Molino De Vita awarded in Bari among the 90 top-performing companies of Southern Italy
There were many companies yesterday at Villa Romanazzi Carducci in Bari. Ninety, to be exact, coming from Basilicata, Calabria, Molise, and Puglia. Ninety different stories, all connected by a common thread: the determination to grow while staying true to their values.
We were there too. With our mill, our family, our wheat.
And with an important award in our hands: the Industria Felix Award – Italy that Competes, a recognition given to the most competitive, reliable, and—in some cases—sustainable Italian companies, based on an analysis of over 17,000 financial statements from the 2023 fiscal year.
The award was received by our administrator, Nicola De Vita, along with Francesca and Vincenzo, who represent the present and future of the Mill.
It was a moving moment, especially because we were the only milling company among those selected from the four participating regions.
We were recognized because our numbers are strong.
But we know very well that behind those numbers, there’s much more: – there’s a story that begins in a wheat field,
– a business vision rooted in the land,
– a daily commitment to work with care and consistency,
– a semolina crafted like a tailor-made product, brought to the table through skilled hands and honest supply chains.
Our 75% organic production, the scientific certification of the high nutritional value of our whole wheat semolina, and the trust of our pasta-making clients: these are all pieces of a greater mosaic that, yesterday, found a place in a national award ceremony, alongside leading companies in aerospace, logistics, agri-food, and technology.
“Receiving this award is a source of great pride for me because it comes in a context that speaks the language I know best: the language of business,” said Nicola De Vita during the ceremony.
“Our company was born from a simple yet ambitious idea: to directly process the wheat we grew as farmers. My father Vincenzo and my brother Michele once asked themselves a key question: Is it possible to have, right here in the ‘granary of Italy’, a mill run by those who grow the wheat themselves?”
We like to think that, stepping on that stage, we brought with us Casalvecchio di Puglia, the Monti Dauni, the clean air you breathe in the fields—which, at the end of the day, is our first real ingredient.
And we like to think that this recognition is not a destination, but another confirmation: it is possible to do business in the South, without compromises, with strong roots and a clear vision.
Our motto is: We are farmers before we are millers.
And that reminds us every day where we come from and why we do what we do.
This balance between roots and innovation is, I believe, the true strength of our company,” De Vita concluded.
Thank you to those who work with us every day, to those who choose us, and to those who share this journey with us.
This award is yours, too.
