Industria Felix: our name among the most exemplary businesses of Southern Italy

We are farmers before being millers. And we remain so today, as we prepare to step onto a stage that isn't usually ours. That of the Felix Industry Award, one of the most prestigious recognitions given to Italian companies that stand out for competitiveness, financial reliability, and in some cases, also for sustainability.

Tomorrow, April 10, at Villa Romanazzi Carducci in Bari, we will receive this award. Our administrator Nicola De Vita will accept it, accompanied by Francesca and Vincenzo, his children, the present and future of Molino De Vita. We will be the only milling company among the ninety businesses selected from the regions of Basilicata, Calabria, Molise, and Puglia.

The award is presented by Industria Felix Magazine, an economic supplement of Il Sole 24 Ore, in collaboration with Cerved following a rigorous analysis conducted on over 17,000 financial statements from the 2023 fiscal year. The event will be hosted by TG1 journalist Maria Soave and will be dedicated to Professor Federico Pirro, university professor and among the founders of the Award's scientific committee.

When they informed us that we would receive this recognition, we were moved. Not so much for the visibility—that's not what we seek—but because it seemed like a tangible way to affirm that yes, one can build a business starting from the land. That it's possible to remain consistent, solid, and present. Even in the numbers.

We used to cultivate wheat, which we still do, and at a certain point we asked ourselves: "why not process it ourselves?" Today we produce only semolina for pasta makers, with a tailored approach: each client has different needs, and we work to adapt, with the precision of those who know the product from its roots. 75% of our production is organic. And a study by the University of Milan has certified the value of our whole grain semolina, for its nutritional properties and high content of noble fibers.

We were born farmers, we often repeat this. But over time we have also become entrepreneurs. Not just because we studied it, but also because we learned it in the field. And if tomorrow we will be there, among many valuable companies, representing our territory and our work, it's also because we never stopped believing in what we do.

We want to share this news with those who know us, with those who work with us, with those who choose our semolina, every day. Because this award, first of all, is a confirmation. That you can build something solid starting from a wheat field.

Tomorrow, in Bari, we will bring Casalvecchio with us. And that subtle air you breathe between the Dauni Mountains and Gargano, which isn't visible in the balance sheet figures, but for us makes all the difference in the world.
